Travel Wise Week - Constable Dave and Constable Glennis

On Thursday Constable Glennis and Constable Dave came into to talk about some tricky situations that may happen when walking to or home from school. They helped us to figure out the safest thing to do in these situations.

Travel Wise Week - Week 8

This week Constable Glennis came into Room 2 to talk about how we travel to school. We learnt that some ways are better for us and the environment, like walking to school. Constable Glennis shared with how to walk safely to school by walking on the house side of the footpath and that we need to stop, look and listen before we cross the road.

Writing Programme!

In Room 2 we are trialling a new writing programme. We have set up three writing groups they are called Shrek, Puss in Boots and Donkey and each group is seen by the teacher every day. Each day of the week has a different writing process focus:

Monday - Brainstorming
Tuesday - Writing
Wednesday - Recrafting
Thursday - Editing
Friday - Publishing

Therefore over the course of a week one piece of writing is taking from the brainstorming stage to the publishing stage. This programme is about producing quality writing from all writing ability levels.

So far we have seen an excellent improvement in our writing, particularly from recrafting where we go back and check that we have covered the success criteria and can extend our ideas.

Please come into the class and see our writing wall with Room 2's published writing.
